Made to order

Richard Orfèvre habitually works with young designers to enrich the workshop's heritage with new creative ventures that fuse tradition with innovation.

This gives some of the most exciting names in modern design the opportunity to delve into the workshop's know-how to bring novel collections or limited series into being. Bestselling items include the cutlery sets in John Pawson's When Objects Work project, baby silverware under the Bienvenue ! collection revisited by Studio 5.5, and cups and other fine dining objects imagined by artist Ruth Gurvitch in her Cérémonia collection. The openness to new ideas so typical of Richard Orfèvre also manifests itself in special gifts made to order, such as the shagreen and shellac cufflinks made in collaboration with lacquerer Nicolas Pinon, or the famous limited edition contemporary Christmas decorations put out by the workshop each year.
